ALLEN, Amanda Sackmire - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Mrs. Amanda Etta Allen, 53, died following a year's illness with diabetes at 4:15 o'clock Monday afternoon at her home, five miles west of Wallace. She had been ill since January 24, 1936. Mrs. Allen was born January 27, 1885, in Fountain County, the daughter of John and Mary Bowers Sackmire. She was married in 1904 to Isam Allen. The deceased was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to the husband and mother, are a son, Vernon Allen at home, a daughter, Mrs. Verna Smith of Kingman, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Palmer and Mrs. Laura Gooding, both of near Kingman and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Centennial church, located south of Veedersburg on State road 41. Burial will be in the Sackmire (sic) Cemetery.
